A friendly aesthetic have given this region of Northern California.

Welcome to Lamorinda

A serene, wholesome, and wonderful area … come find your bliss

Just east of the San Francisco Bay between Briones Regional Park and the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Park, Lamorinda is a serene and beautiful place to grow up. Largely known for wonderful public schools, people can find their slice of heaven in one of Lamorinda’s tranquil, secluded neighborhoods, or one of the luxurious country clubs. A great number of parks, community events, and a friendly aesthetic have given this region of Northern California an unrivaled sense of belonging.

Lamorinda consists of three communities: Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda. While each is unique in its own way, they share the same community feel and overall appearance as one another. One of the more high-end suburbs of the outer Bay Area is also home to the Acalanes Union High School District, one of the best in the state. Great schools, a tight-knit community, and friendly neighbors have made the Lamorinda region one of the best to call home.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

High-end Italian cuisine served in an intimate, authentic setting at Postino has been a regional favorite for several years. Once headed up by Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef and a Food Network star, Postino has lived on and thrived throughout the years. Short ribs, duck breast, fish stew, and foie gras are just a few of their celebratory creations.

Those looking to catch the latest blockbusters can pay a visit to the Orinda Theatre. While this theatre shows the latest hits, patrons enjoy a sort of nostalgia and step back in time inside this classic cinema built in 1941 featuring architecture from a forgotten era.

Joining and mingling at Orinda or Moraga Country Club are options for those that seek an active lifestyle. These courses are unique and aim to challenge, yet entertain visitors. Aside from the two beautiful courses surrounded by native trees, both clubs offer swimming, lessons for youngsters, tennis courts, fitness centers, and gourmet in-house dining.

Lamorinda is abundant in outdoor recreation. Moraga Commons Park is a 40-acre facility with picnic areas, playgrounds, sand volleyball, and more. Similar facilities can be found at Orinda Community Center Park, where locals can take advantage of recreational classes and other informative, fun programs. Days on the water are spent at the Lafayette Reservoir, a 126-acre man-made water site. It’s ideal for fishing, hiking, and boating year-round. Toward the edge of town, Rancho Laguna Park features a picnic area that can accommodate 200 guests for festivals and other get-togethers.

Things To Do

The region is plentiful with festivals and other celebrations. The Pear and Wine Festival is an observance of Moraga‘s harvest featuring children’s activities, treats, and more.
