Welcome to Tri-Valley
One of Northern California’s newer, growing havens
Just over 30 miles east of the San Francisco Bay, Northern California’s Tri-Valley is home to one of the state’s most storied wine regions, sunshine, and scenic views, the largest outlet mall on the west coast, award-winning dining, and wide-open spaces. Tri-Valley homes are newer than many of those in surrounding areas and offer a bit more bang for your buck. Newer neighborhoods, great schools, and leisurely country clubs have provided a higher standard of living for lucky locals.
The region was first settled by natives thousands of years ago, with Spanish settlers arriving in 1772. The end of the California Gold Rush led to further development of the region with the creation of several farms. Today, many farms still exist, and several vineyards have since been established. The peaceful serenity, 21st-century culture, and small-town charm have all come together to make the Tri-Valley area a very well-balanced place to live.
What to Love
- Newer and more affordable homes than other Northern California areas
- Great schools, country clubs, and other modern amenities
- Thousands of acres of wide-open green space
- BART yellow line runs from Antioch, through the valley, and into San Francisco
Local Lifestyle
Tri-Valley residents enjoy a “best of all worlds” lifestyle. Vast mountain ranges and valleys have left locals with miles and miles of hiking trails and thousands of acres of park space. A high concentration of country clubs offers members several recreational opportunities. Meticulously maintained 18-hole golf courses, world-class dining experiences, swimming, tennis courts, and vibrant social calendars are just some of the perks of club membership. The world-famous Napa Valley is just 50 miles north of Tri-Valley, yet locals can enjoy fun days closer to home at one of the numerous wineries southeast of Livermore, on the northern edge of the San Antonio Valley.
Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping
One of northern California’s fairly newer communities has seen a growth in amenities over recent years. High-end shopping centers featuring premier boutiques, delicious restaurants, and communal outdoor space ensures locals need not stray too far when looking for things to do.
Leisurely days spent strolling the sidewalks can be spent at City Center Bishop Ranch. A mix of local boutiques are located here, along with several nationally recognized brands such as Anthropologie, Madewell, Pottery Barn, and Sephora, among others. In-between stores, patrons can enjoy lunch at Bamboo Sushi, sweet bites at Gio Gelato, and tapas at Social Affair. Other recognizable favorites include Starbucks and Sprinkles Cupcakes.
Blackhawk Plaza is a modern outdoor collection of restaurants, shops, a museum, and a movie theater with scenic ponds and meticulously landscaped grounds serving as a backdrop. Blackhawk Plaza is home to the Blackhawk Automotive and Cultural Museum, a Smithsonian affiliate. Visitors can view some of the rarest cars in the world, and browse through home decor, shoe shops, and more.
Each of these shopping centers hosts regular events, such as outdoor group yoga, holiday season ice rinks, Independence Day celebrations, and more, providing precious memories to last a lifetime.
Things To Do
Taking place each year, the San Ramon Art and Wind Festival features national kite-flying champions and showcases the science behind hot air balloons. Live music, food, and drinks are enjoyed by all, in addition to a vast rate of handcrafted jewelry, pottery, toys, and gourmet prepared food products available to take back home. More regularly throughout the year, locals enjoy leisure time spent at one of the several country clubs. Crow Canyon Country Club, Round Hill Country Club, and Diablo Country Club are three of the most storied clubs in northern California with several decades in business each. The three clubs, conveniently spaced out around the Tri-Valley area, have built solid reputations among locals for stellar service and top-notch amenities.
